A workshop on “Usage of Industrial By-Product as Building Material for Sustainable Construction” was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering on 2 November 2023.

Dr.Prarthita Basu, Research Associate, Shriram Institute for Industrial Research was the speaker for the session. The usage of textile waste, electronic waste and sugar industry waste in construction industry was discussed. 

The workshop introduced students to the insights about industrial by-products to help young engineers to dig deeper into the realm of the field of alternative raw materials which is proven beneficial for the construction industry.
